About this experience
Hanbok & Tea Time
The session begins with putting on a hanbok, accompanied by Korean tea and hangwa.
Learn Jagae
A certified tutor introduces the history of Jagae, the symbolic meanings behind traditional patterns such as the crane, pine tree, and lotus, and the aesthetic principles that have guided Korean craft for centuries.
Choosing Your Stone
Select your own natural stones. Each is unique in shape, texture, and weight. Choose from traditional Korean patterns to express your personal wishes, or design your own. This becomes a visible prayer, rendered in the art of Korean Jagae.
Creating Your Wish Stone
This is the heart of the workshop. Under close guidance, you will place hand-cut pieces of mother-of-pearl onto your stone one by one. The process is slow, precise, and quietly immersive. Once complete, your stone is finished with a protective coating.
Taking It Home
Wrapped in a traditional Korean bojagi cloth, your Wish Stone accompanies you home as a truly unique keepsake
