Most people in Waikiki walk Kalakaua Avenue every evening anyway. This self-guided game turns that stroll into a ghost hunt, with the Questo app on your phone as the guide. It starts at a lifeguard tower on Kuhio Beach, loops inland past the Princess Ka'iulani statue and comes back along the beachfront by the Duke Kahanamoku statue. Along the way, ten ghosts need catching. They're fictional characters, not Hawaiian legends, and each one is stuck on a puzzle: a code in an actor's monologue, forged antiques with the wrong dates, a burning hotel that has to be emptied in the right order. One of them is lying about the others. The whole thing is about 1.1 miles and takes around 90 minutes, so it fits neatly between dinner and a nightcap. Play solo or as a group, any day of the week.
