Dastarkhan - e - Akbarabad - Agra local homefood experience

This experience offers a rare chance to taste Mughal cuisine in the home of a family from Hakiman Street, one of the oldest communities in Agra’s walled city. We have partnered with the women of the neighbourhood, who prepare a traditional three-course meal using locally sourced ingredients, spices, and recipes passed down through generations. Rather than dining at a restaurant, you are welcomed into a local home and invited to share a dastarkhan—the traditional spread of food and hospitality. The meal offers a taste of dishes and cooking traditions that are rarely found on restaurant menus, while the conversation around the table gives you a glimpse into the everyday culture, memories, and traditions of the old city. It is food as a doorway into a living community—prepared with care by the women of Hakiman Street and shared in the place where these traditions continue to live.
