Worth the trip if you’re interested in unique art set in unusual landscapes, sculptor Richard Serra’s installation within the Brouq Nature Reserve comprises four steel plates, each more than 14m tall, spread out over a kilometre of the desolate western Qatari desert. You may even spot an ostrich or gazelle in the surrounding desert reserve. The 1.5-hour drive west of Doha includes a bit of off-roading. Visit to the Filming City and Mushroom Rock
