About this experience
One of the must place to visit when you are in Valencia Region. Escape with us to this terrestrial paradise, the only inhabited island in the entire Valencian Community. Here you can swim in crystal clear waters, discover beautiful beaches and coves, visit a charming village and its “savage” part, where you can find the lighthouse. You should also lose yourself in the narrow streets of the fishing village, represented by white and blue or colored houses, and savour its rich gastronomy, such as the Tabarquian caldero (stew) and seafood.
A Genoese Island
Tabarca Island is located in front of the city of Santa Pola. In the past the coasts of this island were a refuge for Barbary pirates, and in the 18th century, King Charles III ordered the construction of a village to house families of fishermen from Genoa who were prisoners in the city of Tabarka. Since that moment on, the island has been inhabited by Genoese people, who made possible to visit it even today.
