During spring, the spectacular wildflowers, abundant birdlife, and opportunities for whale watching are among the many highlights. The hike heads south towards Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, following a scenic coastal route with beautiful beaches and occasional sections of easy rock scrambling. Encounters with baboons are common and often provide memorable wildlife experiences. After a rest at Cape Point, the route continues to the historic lighthouse before following a well-maintained boardwalk to the famous Cape of Good Hope south-westernmost point of Africa. The trail is particularly renowned for its unrivalled views overlooking the pristine waters and dramatic cliffs of Diaz Beach.
