About this experience
Large museums have between 500 and 3,000 items in their permanent collection. The Louvre has 35,000, and the Bode Museum has thousands of sculptures. You could dash through the Louvre in 9 minutes and break the record set by the characters in Bertolucci’s film "The Dreamers", or you could, like the average visitor, spend a full 8 seconds on each piece. But I propose something else: I’ll explain where and how to look so that the art truly reveals itself to you.
I’m not a tour guide with a microphone; I’m an artist, a curator, and someone who has spent years not only studying art but also teaching a wide variety of audiences. I won’t teach you to “see correctly,” but I’ll tell you how to look so that you can learn, be inspired, and discover what matters to you.
Berlin is remarkable in that here, in one day, you can journey from Romanticism to Post-Conceptualism and physically sense how the understanding of what art is has changed from Rembrandt to Bruce Nauman.
