About this experience
An experience that combines adventure, challenge, and reward.
It's one of the most challenging trails in the city, perfect for those who enjoy overcoming obstacles and enjoying nature, but it requires physical preparation.
At 844 meters high, Pedra da Gávea is the largest seaside monolith in the world and offers one of the most spectacular views of the city: Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Lagoon, South Zone, Barra da Tijuca, and the entire Rio de Janeiro coastline, all in one place!
The route : The trail is about 2.5 km uphill (approximately 5 km in total) and takes an average of 3 to 4 hours to complete, depending on the group's pace.
During the route, we traverse sections through the Atlantic Forest, intense climbs, roots, rocks, and the famous Carrasqueira challenge, a short climbing section where you need to use your hands.
But don't worry : with the guidance of our expert guide and safety equipment, you'll climb with confidence and peace of mind!
