About this experience
This excursion will take you from Athens to the Peloponnese, to discover a glorious past celebrated by Homer. The first stop will be the Corinth Canal, which connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. After crossing the canal, we will arrive at Mycenae, the birthplace of King Agamemnon, the hero of the Iliad who rallied the Greek armies against Troy. You will have the opportunity to wander among the ruins of the prosperous city that dominated southern Greece during the Bronze Age. We will stop at a traditional Greek taverna to refresh ourselves before heading to Nafplio, the first Greek capital, with a fascinating history spanning from prehistory to the 19th-century Greek Revolution. There, you will enjoy a guided walking tour, learning about and seeing important aspects of this region. You will then have free time to stroll and enjoy the beautiful sights before returning to Athens.
