About this experience
Alberto Aveleyra, ethnohistorian of the National School of Anthropology is the curator of the Archaeological Exhibit of the Historical Museum of San Miguel (the House of Allende). Alberto is a published author and one of the main researchers of the site. The famous journal Ancient Mesoamerica from Cambridge University just published his work on Cañada de la Virgen archaeological site (Ancient Mesoamerica 18 may 2026), you can check this an other articles in his web page or academia.edu web page. Because the lack of support of the government, Alberto is funding his research through the tours he offers in the site. He does not have comments in tripadvisor because he has been selling his tours thorugh airbnb where you can see the comments of his experience, one of the best rated in that portal.
His research proposes that the site probably was the sanctuary of Colhuacan Chicomoztoc, "The place where they have ancestors" "The place of the Seven caves", the place of origen of Aztecs.
