A boat ride on the Sandoval Lake
Lake Sandoval is within the Tambopata National Reserve, 45 minutes from Puerto Maldonado on the right bank of the Madre de Dios River.
It is a wildlife sanctuary (giant otter or river otter, black caiman, several species of macaws and parrots, kingfishers, turtles, monkeys, herons and cranes among other species of rainforest fauna). It is a biodiversity reserve with more than 1000 species of birds.
