Okayama: Bioluminescent Marine Life Night Experience

Experience the magical bioluminescent marine life of Tamano, on the Seto Inland Sea near Naoshima. More than a wildlife-viewing tour, this is a hands-on experience where you’ll use specially designed equipment to collect sea fireflies, observe their brilliant blue bioluminescence up close, and safely release them back into the sea. Led by Trevor, an experienced photographer with more than 14 years of observing and photographing local bioluminescence, you’ll discover the fascinating world of sea fireflies, glowing phytoplankton, and the unique marine environment of the Seto Inland Sea. The experience combines discovery, education, and responsible interaction with local marine life.
