About this experience
Set out from the Marina La Paz for an extended day marine adventure across the Bay of La Paz. Cruise about 40 minutes past Mushroom Rock and Isla Gaviota, watching for dolphins and blue-footed boobies. Depending on your permit entry time, the day starts with either the whale shark swim or the sea lion colony. Snorkel with 40 to 50 sea lions and swim with giant whale sharks in their natural habitat.
Later, anchor at Balandra Bay for a beachfront lunch of fresh local fish ceviche, tostadas, burritos, fruit, snacks, soft drinks, and water, with chairs, umbrellas, and a table set up. Permits and gear included.
Note: Whale shark encounters happen in a regulated protected area that opens only when 10+ whale sharks are present, capped at 14 boats. Slots run 8-11 AM, 11 AM-1 PM, 1-3 PM, 3-5 PM and are assigned daily by the municipality, so departure times can’t be guaranteed. Please stay flexible; we’ll confirm your time once assigned.
