About this experience
This small-group tour offers a well-rounded taste of Crete—both literally and culturally. Your day begins at Knossos Palace, the heart of the Minoan civilization and legendary labyrinth of King Minos. While entrance fees (not included) and certified guides are optional, you’ll have free time to explore the ruins and soak in the myths.
Next, journey into the Cretan countryside for a stop at a local olive oil estate. Learn about traditional and modern methods, followed by a tasting of premium oils. Then, visit a family-run winery and raki distillery to sample native wines and tsikoudia, Crete’s signature spirit, while discovering age-old distilling techniques.
We end the day with a Cretan lunch at a village taverna, where local recipes, fresh ingredients, and house wine offer a taste of true hospitality. This is a day of stories, flavors, and relaxed island rhythm—exactly as it should be in Crete.
