Private Tuk Tuk Tour to Tobbogans & Old Town

The activity takes place in Monte, where you can choose to ride the toboggans (at an extra cost), more commonly known as “Carreiros do Monte." Toboggan riding was traditionally a means of transportation by locals who wanted to travel quickly from Monte´s village to Funchal. This adventurous and old-fashioned transportation appeared around the 1850s and is still in use today. There won’t be a lot of walking or steps involved in the experience, the TUK TUK will bring right on the action! There is a total of 10 steps in this experience, so it’s accessible for everyone! We don’t recommend wheels chairs users or baby chairs because of space constraints, there isn’t a lot of space to store these items. But anyone can make part of this amazing experience!
