Macaneta Day Tour

We leave Maputo around 08:30/09:00 and head out for an easy 45-minute drive to Macaneta. As we leave the city behind, we pass by the famous Costa do Sol beach before continuing through the small town of Marracuene and crossing the new bridge over the Incomati River. Along the way the vibe slowly changes from busy city life to relaxed coastal scenary, with local villages, roadside markets, cattle around and plenty of nature. Before arriving at the resort, we make a quick stop at the famous Macaneta Glass House (Casa de Vidro), built using recycled glass bottles and cement. It’s a cool and unique spot where you can explore the small museum and library and learn a bit about recycling and nature conservation. If we’re lucky, some monkeys and squirrels might be around to welcome us too. Once at the resort, you can head down to the beach, relax, enjoy the sea breeze, grab some food and drinks, and take in the beautiful views over the river and ocean. Around 17:30 we head back to Maputo.
