Wachau Sightseeing Tour

This day tour is the shorter version of the 10 hrs "Wachau – Romantic Danube Valley Tour" but it is bookable the entire year because the boat ride, which is scheduled only from May to September, is not foreseen here as well as a visit at a Heuriger. The tour offers guests an incomparable insight into a picturesque and richly historic landscape. Heading out of Vienna, the tour travels west towards the town of Melk, home to Austria’s most impressive Baroque Benedictine Abbey. Whichever route your tour takes, you will find yourself passing through villages amongst wine terraces clinging to the steep hills behind them, until you eventually reach Dürnstein, famous as the site of the legend of Richard the Lionheart’s imprisonment and the troubadour Blondel who found the King and arranged for him to be freed. From here, passing through medieval towns beside the Danube, you soon reach Krems, at the heart of the Wachau. After that the tour will return to Vienna.
