Private Cape Sounion Sunset Tour to the Temple of Poseidon

The most timeless sunset in Greece, on a private tour just for you and your group. Your English-speaking driver-guide picks you up in central Athens in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and takes you along the Athenian Riviera, the coast road south of the city, to Cape Sounion at the southern tip of Attica. Perched on a dramatic cliff 60 meters above the Aegean Sea, the Temple of Poseidon has watched over sailors, poets and dreamers for 2,500 years. Lord Byron was so moved he carved his name into the marble. You have free time to explore the archaeological site, then watch the sun sink into the sea as the ancient columns turn gold, and see why the Greeks chose this spot to honor the god of the sea. After sunset, stay for an optional dinner at a seaside taverna (at your own cost) before returning to Athens under the stars. Because the tour is private, the pace is yours and the price covers your whole group, not each person.
