Rome San Clemente Hidden Basilicas Underground Small-Group Tour

Go beyond Rome's most famous landmarks and discover the city's hidden layers on a carefully designed smallgroup walking tour. Visit remarkable basilicas before descending into the archaeological complex of San Clemente. Your journey begins at Santa Maria Maggiore, before continuing to Santa Prassede, home to Byzantine mosaics and the column traditionally associated with Christ's flagellation. At San Martino ai Monti, descend beneath the church to explore the remains of one of Rome's earliest Christian places of worship. Stroll across the Oppian Hill for a unique perspective of the Colosseum before reaching the Basilica of San Clemente. With entrance tickets included, explore its archaeological levels: the 12th-century basilica, the 4th-century church below, and the ancient Roman buildings, including a preserved Mithraic temple. Please be aware that some churches may close without prior notice, for reasons entirely beyond our control.
