About this experience
Explore St Mary Major, one of Rome’s four Major Basilicas, on a one-hour Marian pilgrimage. Venerate the relics of the Holy Crib associated with Christ’s Nativity and the Salus Populi Romani icon, attributed by Catholic tradition to St Luke. Admire the basilica’s ancient mosaics and visit the tomb of Pope St Pius V. An expert Catholic guide explains the sacred art, relics and enduring importance of this historic Marian shrine. The Holy Door is anticipated to open again for the Jubilee of Redemption in 2033.
