Christchurch Gardens Tour with Lunch

Christchurch earned its name as the Garden City, and this day shows you why, with a local guide and no more than eight guests, travelling in our Mercedes-Benz fleet, where the new Sprinters give every guest an individual reclining leather seat. Weather permitting, the day opens on the Port Hills before descending to Lyttelton Harbour and a private garden first planted in 1865, where great exotic trees, rhododendrons, camellias and native plantings have matured over generations. Back in the city, stroll the Botanic Gardens at an unhurried pace, among some of the oldest and tallest exotic trees in New Zealand, and enjoy a leisurely lunch in the gardens. The day ends at the house and garden of Kate Sheppard, who led New Zealand to become the first country where women won the vote. Morning tea and lunch are included, and the tour runs from October to March, when the gardens are at their finest.
