About this experience
Most tours show you the Arena and the Forum. La Yugo Vita takes you somewhere completely different.
You ride in a restored 1979 Zastava 101 — the Stojadin — through the Yugoslav-era history of Pula with a local guide who knows the city from the inside. The shipyard that employed thousands. The workers' housing built as part of the socialist deal. Military zones still closed off today. A former army centre now home to artists and activists.
The car is part of the experience. It turns heads everywhere it goes. People on the street stop and share their own memories of the same model. That does not happen on any other tour in Pula.
Best suited for: couples, small groups of friends, history enthusiasts, cold war and Yugoslav nostalgia travellers, and anyone who wants to see the real Pula rather than the tourist version. Not suitable for travellers with limited mobility as the experience involves a vintage vehicle without accessibility adaptations.
