About this experience
One of the hillside alleys in Buam-dong shows up as a filming location in Parasite, though most visitors walk right past it without knowing. This 2.5-hour walk through the neighborhood covers a lot more than that one scene.
You'll start at the Choi Gyu-sik Memorial Statue, tied to the 1968 Blue House Raid and a piece of Cold War history most guests have never heard of. From there it's on to Cheongun Literature Library, Seoul's first Hanok library, before climbing the Hill of Poet Yoon Dong-ju for views across Bugaksan, Inwangsan, and Bukhansan. The route passes a stretch of the Seoul City Wall and Changuimun Gate, then wraps up at Mugyewon, a Hanok cultural space where you can sit for a minute before heading back down.
Good fit for anyone who wants art, literature, and real history mixed with mountain scenery, minus the crowds you'd hit in Bukchon or Insadong.
