On this tour, we’ll experience the city like a local, visiting beloved family-run spots and lively neighborhoods where Athenians gather for their weekend meals. We’ll begin with fresh-baked koulouri and savory pies before exploring a bustling Sunday flea market, where antique shops and street vendors create a festive morning ritual. From there, we’ll walk through historic Plaka and Thiseio, passing landmarks that span centuries of Athenian history. Along the way, we’ll stop for strained Greek yogurt topped with spoon sweets or thyme honey before sitting down in Petralona for grilled lamb chops and hand-cut fries at a longtime neighborhood favorite. We’ll finish in Psyri at a traditional taverna, sharing classic dishes like dolmades, soutzoukakia and seasonal horta alongside local families enjoying their own Sunday feast.
