About this experience
As the sun drops over Vrindavan, the whole town turns toward Krishna. This evening walk with a local guide takes you through the moments that matter most, in the order they happen.
Start at Banke Bihari as its doors swing open for the evening. Krishna is never shown for long here: a curtain sweeps across him every few moments & crowd surges forward for each glimpse. Next, step into Shri Radhavallabh Lal Ji Temple as its evening darshan begins. Here Krishna stands without an idol of Radha beside him; her presence is honoured by a simple crown at his side.
Pause for a kulhad lassi or fresh peda in the narrow kunj galis, then slip into Nidhivan before its gates lock at sunset. The tulsi trees here grow twisted together in pairs, a bed is laid out for Krishna every night & legend says whatever happens after dark is not for human eyes.
Finish on the sandstone steps of Keshi Ghat as priests raise their brass lamps over the Yamuna, and set your own small flame drifting out onto the river.
