From Krakow: Auschwitz-Birkenau and Salt Mine with Private Transfer

Auschwitz-Birkenau - the largest concentration and extermination camp founded by the Nazi Germans, established in 1940, is a reminder of what happened in Europe during World War II. It is a place where at least 1 million people died. Since 1979, it has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and it is the only place of this kind found on it. After the visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau or before it (the sequence varies depending on a particular day), head to Wieliczka Salt Mine. See carvings made out of the salt, sculptures, reliefs, chandeliers and chapels. This place is on the UNESCO World Heritage List; it teaches about the work of miners. There are 800 steps to take down (however, there are stops on the way and handrails), and after the visit, a lift brings you up.
