The present name seems to derive from Oxmal, meaning “three times built”. MERIDA The capital city of Yucatan is a gem of colonial architecture. We will try local cusine here. IZAMAL This magical town is located in the in the north of Yucatan state. The colonial Izamal is a one-of-a-kind city, all the buildings are painted in yellow. In the pre-Columbian period, this city was one of the important centers of Mayan culture, to this day you can admire the pyramids.
