About this experience
Two of the oldest neighborhoods in Paris in a single walk: the Latin Quarter, home to generations of students, and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the haunt of writers and their café terraces.
You start at the Saint-Michel Fountain and slip into the medieval lanes behind it: rue de la Huchette, Saint-Séverin, Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre. The oldest tree in Paris, still standing in its little square. Notre-Dame, revealing itself just across the river.
Then up the hill, past the Roman baths of Cluny to the Sorbonne, the Panthéon and Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, and back down to the Medici Fountain beneath the Luxembourg Palace. A sweet crêpe somewhere along the way.
The final stretch belongs to the writers and philosophers: Le Procope, the oldest restaurant in the city, the old lanes around rue de Buci, and the terraces of Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots. The walk ends at Saint-Sulpice, on its grand square.
Just you, your guide, and the streets of Paris.
