Hidden Yangon: 6-Hour Private Tour of Thanlyin and Kyauktan

Thanlyin, once known as Syriam, was a busy trading town from around the 15th century, and Portuguese, French and British influences all left their mark. Today it is a sleepy place of tree-lined roads and university campuses, a short drive from Yangon. Your private guide starts with Kyaik Khauk Pagoda, a hilltop stupa with wide views over the land along the Bago River. Next comes Kyauktan, where a local boat takes you to Ye Le Paya on a small island in Hmaw Wun Creek.
