Hiking Izta Popo National Park

Discover the third and second highest mountains in Mexico through the trails of Iztaccíhuatl; during your adventure you will be able to observe the richness of its forest and enjoy at least three viewpoints, finishing at the base camp "La Joya" at 4050 meters above sea level, from where you will fully appreciate the valley and the majestic Popocatépetl, a technical stop at the tourist center La Venta, where the lake and waterfall in the area welcome you to the National Park with a beautiful view and an opportunity for a short rest. Cortes Pass, the point closest to the active volcano crater which has a 2.2km diameter crater where the fumaroles and exhalations are. The flora and fauna of the place are unique attractions of the region such as the ancestral Teporingo (regional rabbit) and different types of birds such as the Bluebird or the American kestrel, at the end of the "Altzomoni" Monitoring Center by the National Disaster Prevention Center.
