The Pico Vines, the Baleeira Heritage and the Volcanoes

This exclusive full-day tour invites you to discover the essence of Pico Island, among UNESCO vineyards, volcanic landscapes, elevated lagoons, whale history and local flavors. We started in the Old Creation, in Madalena, with a visit to the vineyards and the mill, then followed up to the Lagoa do Capitão for a short walk and panoramic views of St. George. The route continues to São Roque do Pico, passing through the Villa and visiting the Baleeira Industry Museum, before having lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the sea. After lunch, we follow the north coast, passing Cabrito, Arcos and Lajido de Santa Luzia, where we visit the Vineyard Landscape Interpretation Center and the volcanological/sismological zone. The experience ends with a Pico wine tasting, celebrating the island’s unique volcanic terroir, before returning to Madalena by the sea.
