An astronomy adventure under the skies of Cairo's Eastern Desert

A short drive through the New Capital takes us to the Katamiya Observatory. Rising ~450 meters above sea level, the mountain ridges overlook the New Administrative Capital and the surrounding ancient topography of Cairo. Here is also the largest telescope in Africa and the Middle East.
