About this experience
Brumblethorn’s Mischief isn’t a franchise or an off the shelf escape room. It was made entirely in Sheffield, built around Tree Spirits, an original children’s story world by local author Kat Brennan, which has been featured in The Week Junior. The villain was even named by her seven year old son.
It’s designed for children, so they solve the puzzles, brew the potion and save the day themselves, while grown ups join in as part of the team rather than just watching. The colour changing potion is real science, so children go home having done genuine magic and real chemistry at the same time.
It’s tucked inside Leah’s Yard, a beautifully restored Victorian courtyard in the heart of Sheffield city centre. It’s indoors, it only takes 40 minutes, and it’s perfect for a rainy day, a half term treat or a city break with little ones.
And every explorer leaves with a warm waffle and a story they’ll want to tell all the way home.
