About this experience
Trace the foundation of the original Presidio San Agustin del Tucson, the 11 acre Spanish fort that is considered the beginning of modern-day Tucson. The foundation of this fort is now buried beneath the buildings of downtown Tucson but still has many stories to tell.
You will see various historic and cultural murals, learning about the imagery and the artists. You will also see the historic Pima County Court House which was built right over the top of the original Presidio wall. You'll walk through Presidio Plaza, admiring several pieces of public art. As you return you'll see some of the earliest Territorial period homes in the El Presidio Historic District.
Begins and ends at the Brandylion Spirits and Tea House, right next door to the Tucson Presidio Museum, 200 N. Court Ave.
After your tour we encourage you to celebrate your walk with a drink at Brandylion!
