Volubilis which is popularly regarded as the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Mauritania, is a city located very close to Meknes in a fertile agricultural environment. It developed from the 3rd Century BC onward as a Berber, then Proto –Cartaginian settlement before being the Capital of the Kingdom of Mauritania. Volubilis is an half excavated Berber and Roman city in Morocco.
