About this experience
Immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere of the historic Hermit Trail, a scenic route into the Grand Canyon built by the Santa Fe Railway in 1911 that offers a quieter and wilder experience away from the crowds. To reach this trail, we take advantage of free park shuttles along the picturesque Hermit Road to Hermits Rest, then embark on a hike down through towering cliffs to the 1913 stone rest house at Santa Maria Spring or continue on to Dripping Springs for stronger groups (approximately 3 miles each way). After enjoying lunch below the rim, we make our way back up.
