About this experience
We start the day by picking you up from your accommodation around 8:15 a.m., heading to the valleys near Sucre. We visit the Río Chico area, known for supplying fruits and vegetables to Sucre. The region is primarily inhabited by Quechua indigenous communities.
We travel by vehicle through several communities for about an hour. These communities maintain a strong cultural identity through the Quechua language and communal farming practices. We stop to shop for any necessary items.
Next, we take an easy walk to the Monte Villca Park entrance. Here, a local guide explains the history, customs, and the natural and cultural richness of the park, which protects native forests, Andean wildlife, and ancient Quechua routes.
Monte Villca is an ecological reserve in the Andes foothills, home to species like the red-fronted macaw and Andean fox. It helps conserve biodiversity and the cultural heritage.
After a 4-hour hike, we enjoy views, observe birds, and relax at recreational haciendas.
