Starting at the Gekkeikan Sake Museum, our walk through the oldest sake brewery in Kyoto will give you a broad understanding of sake making and its history. Enjoy different sakes on location, a knowledge handy for the rest of our tour! Next, we head to Fushimi Sakagura Koji, the first izakaya on our itinerary for lunch! Kyoto Beer Lab awaits us next up north, showcasing the local micro-brewery scene. We'll visit Nishiki Market for street food staples and an understanding of Japanese cuisine fundamentals. The market leads us to Matsukawa Liquor Shop, a well-kept secret in Kyoto's drinking scene. Our last stop is Yanagi Koji Taka, a tachinomi-ya (standing bar) specializing in yakitori, with a high-paced, warm atmosphere.
