About this experience
Most Santos Populares tours are tuk-tuk tours they drive past the festival. This one walks you into it. For five hours, on foot, you move through three of Lisbon's most iconic neighbourhoods: Alfama at sunset, Graça at golden hour, Bica at peak arraial energy. You taste sardinhas assadas at Largo de São Miguel, bifanas at the legendary Vila Berta street party, and caldo verde at the Bica funicular just as the city's lights come on. Your guide isn't reading from a script they're a Lisboeta who grew up dancing at these arraiais. We start when the festival opens and end when it's loudest. On Saint Anthony's Eve (June 12), a separate two-departure edition includes guide-secured viewing of the Marchas Populares parade on Avenida da Liberdade the cultural peak of the entire Portuguese year. And the whole experience runs in June only. Once the lanterns come down on June 30, it's gone for another year!
