Private Hokkaido Day Tour Volcanoes Hot Springs and Lakes

Explore southern Hokkaido's volcanic landscape on a private full-day tour from Sapporo. Begin at Noboribetsu Jigokudani, known in English as Hell Valley, where boardwalks lead out over a crater of steaming vents, sulphur streams and rust-coloured rock, and the smell of hot spring minerals hangs in the air. Continue to Lake Toya, a vast caldera lake ringed by volcanoes and famous for its Eight Views, the classic vantage points scattered around the rim. Finish at the Silo Observation Deck for the lake's most photographed panorama, with the wooded islands of Nakajima at the centre and Mount Yotei rising beyond on clear days. Travel between each stop in a private vehicle with hotel pickup and drop-off from Sapporo, at a relaxed pace set by your group rather than a fixed schedule. Your host shares background on the region's volcanic history along the way. Every site on this itinerary is free to enter, with no admission tickets required.
