Architecture Tour of Berlin - with an Architect!

Discover Berlin’s history by learning how to read and understand its buildings on a guided, three-hour Understand Berlin through architecture, not just dates and landmarks. Many tours use buildings as a backdrop, this tour treats them as historical evidence. As an architect, I (Natalie) focus on how urban planning, housing, materials, and spatial decisions reflect political ideas, social priorities, and moments of rupture in Berlin’s history. Rather than moving quickly between highlights, the tour slows down to ask why the city looks the way it does, and what those choices meant for the people who lived here. By focusing on the built environment, the tour offers a clearer, more grounded way of understanding the city. Through the built environment, the tour connects politics and history to everyday life.
